The Bag or Its Contents?

This bag of screws came in the box with an unassembled something-or-other. My first thought was, “Wow! Those screws look really tasty!” I had originally planned to saute them with a bit of butter and spices until I read the instruction on the bag.

However, the question that I’m sure everyone will ask is: Does the notice apply to the plastic bag or its contents? The other writing on the bag is the Recycle Symbol for LDPE, or Low-Density Polyethylene (which is wrongly abbreviated as PE-LD).

If it applies to the bag, then can I assume it is safe for me to nibble on the screws? After they are cooked, of course.
