The Very Definition of a Corporate Hypocricy

I am the very model of the modern mainstream media,
I’ve disseminated info — whether false or true — it’s feeding ya,
I know the kings and moguls, and I quote their corporate drivel,
For just a buck a month or more, we’ll never stop a-billin’ ya.
(With sincere apologies to Gilbert and Sullivan)

I wanted to read the article about how people are in a never-ending cycle of monthly billing for subscriptions they forgot they had. Subscriptions for “necessities” like Recipe of the Month, Song Lyrics of the Week, or even the Premium Version of the Rocket Money app, which — for $12 per month — will monitor all of your subscriptions right from the comfort of your cell phone.

But I couldn’t read past the headline and sub-head. Business Insider Dot Com required a subscription to continue reading the article. Just a dollar a month. Cancel anytime! (By calling a number with wait times averaging three hours?)
